EdWeb is built on Bootstrap - the most popular HTML, CSS, and JS framework for developing responsive, mobile first websites.
Bootstrap aims to make front-end web development faster and easier by providing ready made libraries and code for common website elements. It offers flexible grid layouts and baked in responsiveness so our websites are primed and ready for all device types and sizes.
We think it is important that all of the University's websites are consistent and that our content is accessible to all our users no matter how they access it. A framework like Bootstrap helps us all by providing a common ground of easy to implement elements that address many of our website needs. And when Bootstrap doesn't have the answers, it's a platform that let's us factor in our own requirements and extend as our business needs dictate.
We built EdWeb and EdGEL on top of Bootstrap so you have a solid foundation to build from. Using Bootstrap also gives you access to a huge community of developers and content creators to help you when you need it.
