Edinburgh GEL

Standards

EdGEL is based on the Bootstrap design framework which is implemented using HTML, CSS, LESS, SASS and JavaScript.

All work regarding implementing and extending EdGEL is making use of the same languages and technologies, without deviation from native Bootstrap standards. More specifically, Bootstrap makes use of CSS properties that require the use of the HTML5 doctype. EdGEL makes use of the LESS CSS pre-processor to benefit by using CSS as a dynamic programming language instead of setting a static set of rules.

EdGEL is compatible with the latest version of the most popular web browsers for devices ranging from mobile phones to desktops. Different styling might appear in older browsers, without impacting functionality. On Windows, versions 8 and newer of Internet Explorer are supported.
